Introduction 

Ramon Magsaysay Award named after the seventh Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay, is an annual award given to the Asian individuals achieving excellence in their respective fields. 
Ramon Magsaysay Award was established in April 1957 by the trustee of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund based in New York City with the concurrence of the Philippine government.
The awards were given in six categories, five out of which were discontinued in 2009 :
